A tractor-trailer rollover on the Maine Turnpike backed up traffic for about 10 hours on Monday morning.
The truck, which was loaded with french fries, struck the guardrail in the median in Farmingdale around 1 a.m. and came to rest on top of the guardrail.
State police say the driver, Duncan MacPhee, 44, of Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, fell asleep at the wheel. Neither MacPhee or his passenger were injured.
Traffic was backed up to the Gardiner tollbooth on Monday morning, before northbound lanes finally reopened around 11 a.m. after the wreck was removed.

The passing lane along the southbound side will remain closed throughout the day so crews can repair the damaged median guardrail. Both northbound lanes are expected to remain open while the work is done.
