Tractor Trailer Rolls Over in Icy Crash

A tractor trailer hauling 20,000 pounds of office supplies rolled over in a crash during icy road conditions on I-89 early Tuesday morning, according to Vermont State Police.

The crash happened on I-89 north in Randolph.

The tractor trailer's driver, 31-year-old Joshua Besaw of Thompson, Connecticut, said he lost control of the vehicle while driving about 40 mph during a light snow, causing the roads to be icy, authorities say.

State police say the tractor trailer jack knifed first, rotated 180 degrees and then finally flipping on its side. Besaw wasn't injured in the crash.

The office supplies being shipped actually caused damage to a wall and roof of the trailer, which had to be unloaded before it could be flipped on its wheels, state police say.
