Trooper Hurt in Cruiser-Involved Crash

New Hampshire State Police are investigating an accident involving a trooper's cruiser in the town of Bedford.

New Hampshire State Police are investigating an accident involving a trooper's cruiser in the town of Bedford.

On Saturday after 1:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a disabled motor vehicle that had spun out and was stuck in a snow bank on Route 3.

Once on scene, a trooper positioned his cruiser behind the disabled vehicle with hit blue lights flashing in an attempt to warn other motorists. Within moments, 38-year-old Kathleen Sudal of Merrimack crashed her vehicle into the side of the cruiser, causing significant damage and injuring the trooper.

The trooper was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua where he was treated for back pain. Sudal and her passenger were not injured and both vehicles were towed from the scene. In addition, Sudal was issued a speeding violation.
