Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Along Route 1 in Woolwich, Maine

The extent of the injuries are unknown

Police say two Mainers were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend along U.S. Route 1 in Woolwich.

Sagadahoc County sheriffs were dispatched to the scene of the accident near Rt. 1's intersection with Mountain Road at about 12:35 p.m. Sunday.

Police say 71-year-old Sara Busch was traveling north when she crossed the centerline into the southbound lane, striking two other vehicles.

The impact of the collision between Busch's Subaro and a Buick caused her car to roll over and strike a Toyota driven by 52-year-old Jose Fernandez-Robledo.

Busch was flown by helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center with unknown injuries. Fernandez-Robledo was hospitalized following complaints of pain. The driver of the Buick was unharmed.

An investigation is ongoing.
