Two Men Sentenced on Gun Charges

One man is a repeat offender

Two Dorchester, Massachusetts, men pleaded guilty to gun charges on Friday after Boston Police caught them possessing the weapons in a public area.

Michael Spence, 21, was busted with a handgun back in April after police observed him taking part in suspicous activity. Spence had led police on a brief chase before they discovered the weapon. While trying to out run the officers, Spence lost has balance, revealing his gun in an attempt to regain his balance.

Angel Calderon, 22, admitted to bringing a gun to the site of a homicide memorial. While parked at the scene, Police discovered Calderon in his car with the weapon, marajuana and an open vodka bottle. Calderon was already known by police from a prior gun convicton.

Spence was sentenced to two years in a house of correction, two years probation and he must wear a GPS monitor, among other stipulations. Calderon was sentenced to three-to-four years in state prison followed by a six-month jail term.
