US Coast Guard Officials: Unresponsive Fisherman Dies

U.S. Coast Guard officials say a fisherman who fell overboard and was pulled from the waters off Jonesport, Maine, was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the crewman fell off the fishing vessel Melinda Ann in Englishman Bay at about 1:50 p.m. Saturday. They say he was unresponsive when fellow crew members pulled him from the water.

A Coast Guard crew took him aboard a rescue boat and performed CPR enroute to Jonesport, where waiting emergency rescue personnel also tried to revive him. He was pronounced him dead at about 2:30 p.m.

The man's identity has not been released. The incident is under investigation.
