Unruly Passenger Arrested at Logan Held on $5K

Darren Halliwell was traveling from London on a British Airways flight to Houston

A man accused of interrupting a flight crew, and assaulting a passenger on board a plane, has been ordered held on $5,000 bail.

Massachusetts State Police arrested 46-year-old Darren Halliwell of the United Kingdom on Wednesday.

Halliwell was traveling from London on a British Airways flight to Houston, Texas.

Police say he became unruly on board, and the plane was diverted to Boston's Logan International Airport.

Halliwell was arraigned in East Boston Municipal Court on charges of disrupting the operation of an aircraft, disorderly conduct, and assault and battery.

Halliwell was also ordered to remain alcohol-free, stay away from the victim, and stay away from Logan Airport in the event he is released on bail

Assistant District Attorney Emily Hamrock told the court that Halliwell was on board a British Airways flight from London to Houston when he allegedly became drunk and belligerent, yelling at a 14-year-old passenger who was traveling with her family.

Halliwell was represented by Aditi Goel.

He's next due in court on July 29.
