Vermont Mother Accused of Hitting Child for Being a Picky Eater

A Vermont mother is facing assault charges after allegedly hitting her child for being a picky eater.

Twenty-six-year-old Chantel Rogers of Bethel was arrested and charged with domestic assault, cruelty to a child and offense committed in the presence of children.

State police say Rogers hit her 6-year-old, injuring her child's nose, because the child did not like the food being served last Tuesday.

The injury to the child's nose did not require medical attention, according to police.

Rogers has been issued conditions to not have contact with her children.

She's expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

It's not clear if she has an attorney.
