Vermont State Police Arrest Alleged Drunk Driver

Vermont State Police are investigating after a drunk driver fled from the scene of a crash in West Rutland.

Police conducted a motor vehicle stop around 5:34 p.m. that had been involved in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Clarendon Avenue.

Initial investigation reveals the operator, 45-year-old David Jimenez, was driving southbound in the northbound lane of Clarendon Avenue. He allegedly swerved to avoid a head-on collision, causing him to drive over the center median and hit a street sign.

Jimenez was found to have a .282 percent BAC. He was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.
