Police ID Couple Dead After Possible Murder-Suicide

Police are investigating the "untimely" deaths of a couple found inside a Vernon apartment on Wednesday morning as a possible murder-suicide.

Police have identified the two people as Allison Peterson, 53, and Eric Danziger, 59, both of 3 Linden Place, and said they were dating.

The medical examiner will determine the official cause of the deaths, but police believe that Danziger killed Peterson and then himself.

A maintenance worker discovered two bodies inside an apartment when he was responding to a service call for a water problem, police said. The building employee called police shortly after 10 a.m. and reported the deaths.

Police who responded discovered the bodies of Peterson and Danzinger and spent more than 10 hours investigating, collecting evidence and interviewing neighbors.

Police will not say if any weapons were found at the scene or if there were any signs of struggle. They are not looking for any other people and said there is no danger to the public.

Neighbors said police have been to the apartment unit before. Detectives are now looking into any possible history.

“It something our detectives are working on as far as what history we have with these involved parties and the history they have in general as far as arrests,” Lt. William Meier said.

Autopsies are scheduled for today.
