Victim Assaulted With Skateboard in Boston

Assault occurred near Haymarket MBTA station

A 53-year-old victim was assaulted by two men with skateboards Tuesday night near the Haymarket MBTA station in Boston.

Officers were flagged down around 7:25 p.m. in the area of 50 Sudbury St. for an attack that had just occurred in front of the Dunkin' Donuts.

An MBTA operator quickly pointed out two men who assaulted the victim. He told authorities the victim accidentally bumped into the suspects in the Dunkin' Donuts.

As officers approached the suspects, they attempted to flee. After a brief chase, both suspects were taken into custody.

19-year-old Corey Deltufo of Boston and 24-year-old Tommy G. Gedeus of Chelsea have been charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

During the booking process, officers also recovered almost $500 and a plastic bag containing two clear plastic bags of a substance believed to be marijuana from Gedeus. He was additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute Class D drugs.

The victim was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
