Victim in Fatal Mass. Crash Identified as Teen

The teenage victim of a weekend car crash in Adams, Massachusetts, has been identified as a 17-year-old North Adams resident.

Police tell The Berkshire Eagle that Zackary Decker was a passenger in a car that apparently crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle coming in the other direction at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Decker was thrown from the vehicle and sustained severe neck and head injuries. He was taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, where he died.

The drivers of both vehicles and a second passenger in the same vehicle as Decker were hospitalized. Their names and ages were not made public.

The crash remains under investigation and there was no word on charges.
