Volunteers to Help Clean Connecticut River

The Connecticut River Watershed Council's annual Source to Sea Cleanup takes place Friday and Saturday

Thousands of volunteers from four states are expected to participate in an annual cleanup of the Connecticut River.

The Connecticut River Watershed Council's annual Source to Sea Cleanup takes place Friday and Saturday.

Volunteers from Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut are gathering at sites along the river, with many sponsored by area businesses.

In Wilder, Vermont, the King Arthur Flour Company is sponsoring a group that will work from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Contact group leader Rob Nahabedian at 802-299-2240 for details.

In Hanover, New Hampshire, Ibex Outdoor Clothing also is sponsoring a group. The contact is Chelsea Pawlek, at 802-359-4011.

Groups also are gathering in Groton and Hartland, Vermont, and Cornish, New Hampshire.
