Vt. to Release Report on Marijuana Legalization

Vermont officials and the Rand Corporation are set to release a report on the implications of legalizing marijuana in the state

Vermont officials and the Rand Corporation are set to release a report on the implications of legalizing marijuana in the state.

The report to be released Friday afternoon was produced at the request of the Vermont Legislature.

The report is entitled, "Considering Marijuana Legalization: Insights for Vermont and Other Jurisdictions."

Gov. Peter Shumlin has said he believes Vermont should eventually legalize marijuana, but he wants to learn from the experiences of the state of Washington and Colorado before anything is done here.

The House Ways and Means Committee is scheduled to take testimony on the taxation and regulation of marijuana on Friday afternoon.
