Warm Air Sets Records

High temperature records around the region were broken on Tuesday, including just before dawn.

Boston and Worcester's records, which had been set in 1930, were broken by Tuesday afternoon after hitting 69 degrees and 66 degrees, respectively, and there's potential for more records to be broken on Wednesday.

Records were set just before dawn, with both Boston and Providence seing the warmest early morning temperature for this date.

After another record warm night, tomorrow’s highs of 65-70 degrees will capitalize on less impressive records in the lower 60s to push places like Boston into record territory.

In classic New England fashion, a passing cold front that brings a few showers from north to south Wednesday afternoon to night will open the door to so much cool air that Thursday not only brings highs in the 40s, but also find redeveloping afternoon rain showers mixing with and changing to snowflakes for some!

Once that cooler air starts knocking on our door, a somewhat unsettled pattern returns with a chance of showers again Friday, late Saturday into Sunday and perhaps lasting into Monday morning.

Though we may see some drier weather setting in by early to middle of next week, temperatures don’t look to warm nearly as much as these next two days through the remainder of the Early Warning Weather 10-day forecast.
