Transformers Spark, Waves Crash Over Roads in Maine

Power is out in several areas of the state

In this video, captured by a police officer in Wells, Maine, you can see waves crashing onto roads, and transformers sparking.

There is quite a bit of flooding along Webhannet Drive.

Power is now out in several areas. WCSH-TV reported that about 1,635 customers were without electricity as of Tuesday morning, mostly due to strong winds. Some of them lost power after a beaver cut down a tree, which took out a transmission line serving customers in and around Ludlow, Oakfield, Sherman, Island Falls and Patten.

Flood Warnings, Flood Watches and Wind Advisories are in effect for parts of Maine through Wednesday morning.

Authorities say if you are in the area, please be safe, and stay indoors if possible.
