Wethersfield Police Officer Hit by Car Expected to Make Full Recovery

A Wethersfield police officer was hit by a car while investigating a crash on Tuesday night and remains in the hospital this morning.

Police said Officer Peter McGee was standing outside his cruiser at the scene of a prior crash when he was hit around 7 p.m. on Wells Road, near Wolcott Hill Road.

McGee sustained leg and back injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery, according to police.

The driver who hit the officer remained at the scene. It‘s not clear if charges will be filed.
