Woman Accused of Threatening to Shoot Social Workers

Barre police say Sabra Sironi, of Barre, also threatened to shoot other people involved in a series of cases she is involved in in criminal and family court

A 39-year-old Vermont woman is facing obstruction of justice charges that she threatened to shoot employees of the Department for Children and Families at the Barre office where a social worker was shot and killed last year.

Barre police say Sabra Sironi, of Barre, also threatened to shoot other people involved in a series of cases she is involved in in criminal and family court.

Sironi was taken into custody Thursday. She denied making any threats or having any weapons other than a high-powered "cork/BB gun."

She's due in court Friday. It's unclear if she has an attorney.

Last summer social worker Lara Sobel was shot and killed outside the Barre DCF office. Jody Herring, also of Barre, was charged with killing Sobel along with three of Herring's relatives.
