A woman died Saturday morning in a house fire in Beverly, Massachusetts.
The fire broke out a home on Hale Street at about 11 a.m. and quickly reached two alarms.
Fire officials said the woman who lived alone at the house died in the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
Neighbors say she was well known in the community as an activist and was very involved in local issues particular ones that involved the environment. She was affectionately known as, “the duck lady,” because she was often behind her home feeding wildlife.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown but fire officials said there were hoarding issues at the house.
