Woman Kidnapped From Newton, Massachusetts, Assisted Living Facility Found; Suspect Arrested

A 62-year-old woman who police said was kidnapped Tuesday afternoon from an assisted living facility in Newton, Massachusetts, has been found, and a suspect has been arrested.

Newton Police confirmed around 11:30 p.m. Thursday that Beth Birnbaum was found at Massachusetts General Hospital, as was the suspect.

Birnbaum disappeared from CareOne around 2 p.m. Tuesday - her empty wheelchair was found outside the facility.

Wednesday, police issued a warrant for the arrest of 55-year-old David Collignan, who had been seen leaving CareOne with Birnbaum's clothing.

Police did not have any word on Birnbaum's condition.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned Friday morning at Newton District Court.
