Woman Pleads Guilty in Slaying of Autistic, Diabetic Man

Lara Cori, of Providence pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter

A Rhode Island woman has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to her role in the killing of a 19-year-old autistic and diabetic man from Massachusetts.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that Lara Cori, of Providence, had been charged with first-degree murder in the March 2013 stabbing death of Joseph Webster, of Worcester, but on Monday pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say Cori and man who's awaiting trial on a murder charge lured Webster to a motel room in Northborough, where he was stabbed multiple 10 times.

Authorities say they knew Webster and tried to sell his car after they killed him.

Webster's body was found several weeks later stuffed in a trash receptacle behind an abandoned Providence apartment building.
