A Maine woman involved in a fatal crash in Monmouth last year has pleaded guilty to causing a death while her license was suspended or revoked, and other offenses.
The Kennebec Journal reports 24-year-old Alyssa Marcellino, of Winthrop, entered the plea on Monday at the Capital Judicial Center.
Marcellino told the court she understood what she was doing and the rights she has given up.
Prosecutors say Marcellino's right to have a driver's license was suspended at the time of the March 2014 crash. The head-on-collision killed 67-year-old Joan Fortier, of Mount Vernon, and seriously injured her sister.
Prosecutors say Marcellino drifted into the wrong lane, and then tried to return to the travel lane, resulting in a collision.
She is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 3.
