Authorities in Worcester, Massachusetts, are investigating an armed home invasion that happened overnight Monday.

Worcester police say officers responded to a report of a home invasion at an apartment on Endicott Street.

As people were leaving the apartment after an extended family card game night, two men came inside with a handgun and a shotgun.

The suspects allegedly struck a 53-year-old man in the head with the handle of shotgun, and ordered the rest of the group to the ground and hand over their money.

Police say the suspects, who had their faces covered while wearing all black clothing, fled with cash just before officers arrived at the scene.

Officers were unable to find the suspects after initially getting to the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 508-799-8651.
