Celina Cass's Body Found in N.H. River

(NECN: Lauren Collins: Stewartstown, N.H.) - The body of 11-year-old eClina Cass is being treated as suspicious after her body was found in the Connecticut River this morning.

Divers this morning found the body of girl, who has been missing since last Monday, about a quarter mile from her house in this tiny town near on the Canadian border, authorities said.

"Based on what we have seen visually, we are treating the death as suspicious," said prosecutor Jane Young at a news conference early Monday evening.

hydroelectric dam that spans the Connecticut River between her
hometown of Stewartstown, N.H., and Canaan, Vt.

Prosecutor Jane Young confirmed the identity at a news
conference Monday night.

The discovery followed nearly a week of intense searching that
attracted more than 100 federal, state and local law enforcement
officers to the town of 800 residents a mile from the Canadian
border.

Cass was last seen alive in her home on July 25. An autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
