(NECN) – For a lot of brides and grooms planning their own wedding, it won’t be their first time walking down the aisle.
NECN’s own Steve Aveson is currently planning his second wedding with his fiancée Karen Whitla. The two have been friends since college.
Even though they’ve been friends for years, they still find the wedding planning to be a challenge.
They say a second marriage is harder to plan, especially with two mature people with a lifetime full of friends.
"I’ll tell you one thing that makes it different is trying to find a wedding dress for the mature woman," says Whitla.
She says that she thinks as a middle-aged woman, she’s used to figuring out what others want, rather than herself, and that has been a challenge in planning the wedding.
