New Hampshire Jury Finds Boater Guilty of Negligent Homicide in Crash That Killed Friend

(NECN: Laconia, NH) - The former head of the New Hampshire Recreational Boaters Association, Erica Blizzard, has been found guilty of negligent homicide for failing to keep a proper lookout for piloting her speedboat into a ledge in Lake Winnepesaukee, killing her friend.

The crash killed 34-year-old Stephanie Beaudoin of Meredith.

The jury could not reach a verdict on a separate negligent
homicide charge and a charge of aggravated driving while
intoxicated for the serious injuries caused to her passenger,
Nicole Shinopulos, of Burlington, Mass.

Blizzard, 36, faces a maximum of seven years in prison. Sentencing
has been set for April 21.
