Sen. Warren: More Diversity at the Breakfast Than a Republican Convention

(NECN: South Boston, Mass.) – Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sunday, politicians came together at Boston’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast.

For the first time, Massachusetts Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry of Boston hosted the breakfast, considered one of the city's biggest political events.

Each year, the breakfast gives politicians in the state a chance to tease their colleagues and laugh at themselves. Some even sing a song or two.

“Before I begin, I want to take a moment to remember those who are no longer with us. But enough about Scott Brown moving to New Hampshire,” began Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Sen. Warren talked about many of the state politicians like Charlie Baker and Deval Patrick.

“There is more diversity just at the head table of this event than there will be at the whole state Republican convention next week,” she continued.

After the event, South Boston's annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is scheduled to take place.
