Watson: ‘Everyone Is in Too Much of a Hurry'

(NECN) - With nearly 1,500 accidents involving bikes in Boston between 2010 and 2012, nine of them deadly, what more can be done to create safer conditions on shared roadways?

David Watson, executive director of the Massachusetts Bike Coalition joins NECN.

He says the more bikes that are on the road, the better, because it forces people to acknowledge their surroundings.

“People need to slow down, they need to look around, and they need to realize that everyone else on the road is just a person trying to get somewhere safely," he said.
