(NECN/AP) - Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has scheduled prostate surgery, the latest among health issues that have included a bone fracture and respiratory infection.
A spokeswoman says the surgery is scheduled for Friday at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She says the surgery is elective and will require a few days in the hospital and recovery at home.
NECN has been assured the surgery is not with regard to cancer. It’s an enlarged prostate, a common condition.
Many are sending him good wishes.
NECN’s Greg Wayland is at the Boston Harbor Hotel where the Mayor is scheduled to make an appearance Tuesday afternoon.
