Bill Clinton to Campaign for New Hampshire Democrats

Former President Bill Clinton's last New Hampshire visit was in 2012 to campaign for President Obama

Former President Bill Clinton will headline the New Hampshire Democratic Party's annual Jefferson Jackson dinner next month.

A Democrat with knowledge of the visit confirmed that Clinton will attend the event. The person spoke only on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made publicly.

Clinton last came to New Hampshire in 2012 to campaign for President Barack Obama. The dinner is an annual gathering for Democrats to rally around their candidates: U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, Gov. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Reps. Carol Shea-Porter and Annie Kuster.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are popular in New Hampshire. Hillary Clinton won the state's 2008 presidential primary and it was Bill Clinton's second place finish in the 1992 primary that helped propel him toward the Democratic nomination for president.
