Having your parents endorse you for political office shouldn't come as a surprise - but Barry Finegold, who is seeking office as Massachusetts' state treasurer, did just that.
Finegold faces two other challengers in the Democratic primary on Sept. 9.
He says voters should know his independent streak and his tough stances, pointing to his then-unpopular stances on same-sex marriage and the death penalty.
"I have a great track record of being independent and doing what I think is right, and I think that's what people are really looking for in the Commonwealth," the state Senator said.
