Massachusetts Gov.-elect Charlie Baker says he is "certainly a fan" of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who has announced plans to actively explore a possible GOP bid for the White House.
Baker, a Republican who takes office in Massachusetts next month, stopped well short Tuesday of declaring support for a prospective Bush candidacy, saying he is focused on getting his own administration off the ground.
But Baker did say during a visit to the Statehouse that he admired the work Bush did in Florida, especially the progress the state made in education during his tenure as governor.
Baker has also been a strong political ally of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is among other Republicans who could be weighing a 2016 race for president.
