The running mates of Charlie Baker and Martha Coakley were in the spotlight on NECN Tuesday evening for their first televised debate in a contest that's too close to call.
Republican Karyn Polito is a resident of Shrewsbury and a former elected representative. In 2010, she was the GOP nominee for state treasurer.
Democratic candidate Steve Kerrigan is a resident of Lancaster. He served as an aide to Senator Ted Kennedy. In 2012, he was CEO for the Democratic National Convention and later served as co-chair for President Obama's inaugural committee.
