Year-End Review With Boston Mayor Marty Walsh

Marty Walsh's first year as mayor of Boston will soon come to an end. Walsh took office back on January 7 following a 20-year run by the legendary Thomas Menino.

Walsh joined Jim Braude on Broadside for a special interview. Walsh and Braude took a look back at an eventful 2014.

Walsh's first year as mayor was highlighted by its fair share of ups and downs.

One fond memory Walsh shared was how President Obama delayed him from speaking at his own inaugural celebration. Obama called Walsh to congratulate him on his major accomplishment. Walsh was late to the event.

Other major events the two touched upon include the upcoming Tsarnaev trial, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, casinos coming to the state, the possibility of Boston hosting the Olympics in 2024 and Menino's unfortunate passing.
