Polling in the Massachusetts Gubernatorial Race

Suffolk University pollster David Paleologos breaks down the latest poll on the candidates

The polls for the governor's race in Massachusetts can't get much closer.

Among likely voters in a Suffolk University poll released Monday, Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Charlie Baker are virtually tied, with Coakly winning 44 percent of the vote and Baker grabbing 43 percent.

Suffolk University pollster David Paleologos said their poll is different than recent polls because they had fewer undecided voters and more voters likely to head to the voting booth in November.

According to Paleologos, more women are likely to vote for Coakley and more men are likely to side with Baker.

"The reason why Coakley leads in the poll is because more women than men will vote," he said.
