President Obama to Headline Fundraiser in RI

The president is scheduled to be in Newport for a few hours Friday evening to headline a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

Newport, Rhode Island officials are warning drivers about road closures and travel delays because of President Barack Obama's fundraising visit.
   
The president is scheduled to be in Newport for a few hours Friday evening to headline a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee at a private residence. U.S. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi also is expected to attend.

Parking restrictions in Newport will be in effect from noon to 10 p.m. Friday. Police say no parking will be allowed on sections of Memorial Boulevard, Bellevue Avenue and Ocean Avenue. Many no parking signs were put up Thursday night.
   
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee works to elect Democrats to the House of Representatives.
