Vermont U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is warning about possible big cuts to the Social Security disability program.
Republicans have been warning about a looming shortfall in the program, but Sanders says it's a manufactured crisis.
The Vermont Independent says changes proposed by the Republican majority could result in a 19 percent cut in benefits for disabled workers and their dependents next year.
He says he supports a push by the White House to move money from the Social Security retirement funds into the disability program.
