Independent Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Scott Lively made his presence felt as other governor hopefuls debated last week on WBZ-TV.
This is the missionary pastor's first run for political office. He says would be a "miracle" if was elected.
"I want to advance a biblical world view in the political arena, something that hasn't been done for decades," he said.
Lively says he's a staunch pro-life advocate, which is why, he says, he questions Democrat Martha Coakley's record on protecting children.
"It's complete hypocrasy. She's a Catholic. What in the heck is she doing? She's one of the strongest abortion advocates in Massachusetts and it's outrageous," he said.
He said the only exception for abortion he believes in would be if the mother's life were to be in danger, but added, "Although that's so rare that it would almost be impossible."
Lively also argued that Roe v. Wade is unconstitutional and will be overturned.
Politics
"I think it's long overdue in being overturned," he said.
Lively is the first of the independent candidates to be featured this week on Broadside.
