From 6th Man to MVP, Andre Iguodala Wins Bill Russell Award

Golden State's Andre Iguodala has been voted NBA Finals MVP.

The 11-year veteran did not enter the Finals as a favorite, let alone a consideration for the series' most valuable player award.

Iguodala didn't start a game all season until Steve Kerr inserted him into the lineup in Game 4 after the Warriors trailed the series 2-1. The move was as golden at the Warriors.

Iguodala served as the prime defender on LeBron James and effectively guarded the Cleveland forward to impact the trajectory of the series. Iguodala also delivered plenty of offense of his own, scoring 25 points in the clincher.

The two-prong strategy was enough to earn him the Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP Award as Golden State closed out their first title in 40 years in Tuesday's Game 6 win at Quicken Loans Arena.
