Friday was a great night to be out for a worthy cause - Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was taking it all in, now three and half weeks before his appeal is heard.

Mark your calendar - it's coming on June 23 - the day Brady will finally have his four-game suspension appeal heard, likely by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

On May 29, Brady was playing football without any restrictions on two different fields.

The first was in Foxboro during organized team activities.

Neither his backup nor his coach wanted to talk about possible Patriots football without Brady.

"I'm just going out to practice every day trying to improve, trying to get me better, my teammates better, and we'll go from there," said quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

"We're just going day by day right now. Everybody's working hard trying to get better. That's what we're all doing," said head coach Bill Belichick, when asked if he's preparing to start the season with Garoppolo as the starter.

What Brady was doing this evening, was making a difference for the charitable organization Best Buddies at Harvard Stadium, not talking about his suspension.

Trading in the sweats for khakis, red kicks, and his signature backwards baseball hat, Brady was automatic QB, avoiding a ferocious pass rush, launching deep passes to some of his own buddies like Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola; plus some of the program's athletes with developmental disabilities, like Chris Harrington, getting life opportunities and celebrating proud moments.

Friday kicks off the Best Buddies Challenge.

Saturday, a bike ride from Boston to Hyannis Port is scheduled.
