Isaiah Thomas Out for Rest of Postseason

Isaiah Thomas, point guard for the Boston Celtics, is out for the rest of the 2017 postseason.

NBA.com reported that "Thomas will miss the remainder of this year’s postseason following re-aggravation of a right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Cleveland."

Coach Brad Stevens said at Sunday's shootaround before Game 3 that Thomas might need surgery. The star guard did not travel with the team so he could see specialists.

Forward Al Horford calls Thomas "the heart and soul" of our team. He says the Celtics need to "rally around and play for him and our team because our season is on the line."

Danny Ainge, the Celtics' general manager, tweeted that Thomas had a "legendary season."

"With the personal tragedy and injuries he's overcome, getting through game seven was heroic," said Ainge.
