Raul Martinez joined NBC Boston and necn in May of 2016.
He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He got his undergraduate degree in journalism at TCU. Syracuse University was his next stop, where he received his master's degree in broadcast journalism.
Raul's search for his first job as a sports journalist led him back to his home town. He started at KVIA (ABC-7) back in 2004 as a weekend sports anchor. One year later, he was named sports director at the age of 24.
He left El Paso after seven years and joined KDVR/KWGN in Denver as the weekend sports anchor and spent four years there. He started when Peyton Manning came to Colorado and left when he retired.
Raul has had the privilege of covering Super Bowls, NBA and NHL playoffs, college bowl games, March Madness, high school state championships and much more.
He and his wife have two daughters, and he is excited to join and get to know the Greater Boston area.
