Six teenagers, three juveniles charged in 'unrelenting' bullying of Phoebe Prince

(NECN: Alysha Palumbo, South Hadley, Mass.) - The death of Phoebe Prince gained national attention. Friends of the 15-year-old say she killed herself because she was bullied at school and online. Now, nine students face charges in her death, including two who are charged with statutory rape.

Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth Scheibel says school officials knew about this bullying, but none will face criminal charges.

On Friday, the Hampshire Grand Jury returned felony indictments against the following people:

Sean Mulveyhill, 17, of South Hadley: statutory rape, violation of civil rights with bodily injury, criminal harassment and disturbance of school assembly

Austin Renaud, 18, of Springfield: statutory rape

Kayla Marey, 17, of South Hadley: violation of civil rights with bodily injury, criminal harassment and disturbance of school assembly

Ashley Longe, 16, of South Hadley: violation of civil rights with bodily injury as a youthful offender

Flannery Mullins, 16, of South Hadley: violation of civil rights with bodily injury and stalking as a youthful offender

Sharon Belazquez, 16, of South Hadley: violation of civil rights with bodily injury and stalking as a youthful offender

Three juvenile females are charged with delinquency complaints, including violation of civil rights with bodily injury, criminal harassment and disturbance of school assembly. One of them is also charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
