(NECN: Kenneth Craig, Worcester, Mass.) - It's that time of year again to start thinking about fireworks safety. Although it is illegal to buy or use fireworks in the state, hundreds manage to injure themselves every year.

Leave it up to the professionals -- that's a message from safety officials going into the Independence Day weekend.

Although fireworks are illegal to buy in Massachusetts, many people get them right across the border.
