(NECN: The Boss) - While running KaBloom, David Hartstein fulfilled his dream of becoming a professor. Today, he is an Executive in Residence at the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University in Boston, where he teaches marketing.

He takes his students on special travel seminars to Spain and Israel, where they learn about successful foreign businesses.

The Jewish faith runs deep in David's heart and soul.  He grew up in Netanya, Israel.  His parents were Holocaust survivors, but David never knew what happened to them, until he was an adult.  He learned his father was previously married with two children, his first wife and those two children died in the Auschwitz concentration camp.

His father re-married, and when David's mother was pregnant she was taken to Prague where her unborn child died of blood poisoning, the result of being tortured by Nazi German SS officer and physician Josef Mengele. Despite this tragedy, the family persevered, and David's mother provided him with great strength and optimism.
