LAUREN COLLINS
Lauren is a native New Englander who's either worked, lived, or vacationed in every state that NECN covers. As the New Hampshire bureau reporter, she gets a healthy dose of politics every week, but also gets to explore some of the characters that define this "live free or die" state. Before taking on her full time role at NECN, Lauren spent nine years in radio as a DJ, news reporter, anchor, and editor. While News Director at WATD-FM, she received a national Edward R. Murrow for spot news award and the regional Associated Press award for best news cast. She was honored to work in Boston radio at WRKO-AM and, most recently, at WBZ-AM. She holds a B.A. Magna Cum Laude in Cinema from the University of Hartford. Lauren and her dog, Finn, reside in New Hampshire.
ALLY DONNELLY
Ally Donnelly is a two time Emmy, two time Gabriel and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist. She covers health and science issues for NECN and is the featured reporter on Health Week with Karen Swensen. A native of Chicago, Ally moved to Boston after earning her degree in journalism from Marquette University. She began her career as a Public Affairs Officer for Children's Hospital, Boston. She later moved up the ranks to become editor of WHERE Boston Magazine. Ally's television career launched at WPRI in Providence, RI. She began working for NECN as a freelance reporter in 1999 and joined the news station full time in 2004. In addition to medical issues, she has covered everything from the Rhode Island nightclub fire to the Catholic Church sexual abuse crisis to the Big Dig Tunnel collapse. Ally and her husband Patrick live on the South Shore of Boston.
LATOYIA EDWARDS
Latoyia Edwards joined the NECN family as a morning reporter in 2005, arriving from WWLP-22 in Springfield, MA, where she had been a weekday anchor. A native of Boston's Dorchester neighborhood, Edwards graduated magna cum laude from Emerson College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She began her career as a news writer for WBZ-1030AM radio, and later reported for the Fox affiliate WICZ-TV 40 in Binghamton, NY. She first anchored television for MediaOne cable news network, while also reporting as the morning drive news anchor for WILD 1090AM. Additionally, Edwards has instructed courses for the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. In 2002, Edwards was crowned Miss Massachusetts in the USA pageant. She is married, and greatly enjoys volunteering with youth groups.
PETER HOWE
Peter J. Howe, who has been a reporter for the Boston Globe for the past 22 years covering a myriad of beats including transportation, health and science, and business, became NECN’s business reporter on April 8.
Assigned to the Globe’s Business section since 1999, Howe has covered airlines, energy, travel and tourism, telecommunications and technology, been a regular Globe commentator on NECN, and led Globe business coverage of major stories such as the Microsoft Corp. antitrust suit and the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Earlier he covered the Big Dig and Boston Harbor cleanup, transportation, health and science, and environmental issues and has been a reporter in the Globe's State House and City Hall bureaus. His work has won awards from groups including the Associated Press managing editors and Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
He has also been editor or co-editor of the annual Globe 100 special section on Massachusetts' top-performing businesses each of the last four years.
Howe, 42, of Newton, is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College. He began his career at the Globe as an intern and worked his way through the ranks.
ANYA HUNEKE
Anya Huneke joined NECN as a general assignment reporter in the Vermont news bureau. She moved to Boston in 2004, and became the station’s health and science reporter, returning to Vermont in early 2007. Before NECN, Huneke worked at WVNY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Burlington, VT, where she was a general assignment reporter. Prior to that, she was a producer and reporter with WCTI-TV in New Bern, NC. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in English and French. She has been nominated for four New England Emmy Awards, and has received ten Associated Press awards for her reporting in Vermont.
ALISON KING, POLITICAL REPORTER
Alison King made her political reporting debut at NECN covering the 1996 U-S Senate Race between Massachusetts Governor William Weld and Senator John Kerry. Since then, she's covered three Presidential races and a wide range of New England political stories including a documentary on Massachuetts Senator Ted Kennedy. Prior to joining NECN, King was a reporter at WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT. She has also worked as an anchor/reporter at News 12 in Norwalk, CT and WECT-TV in Wilmington, NC. King also worked on programming for ABC Sports during the 1988 Winter Olympic Games and at ABC's Good Morning America. King has earned a number of awards for her work including three Emmy Awards, two Gracie Awards, several Associated Press Awards, and she was a contributing member to NECN's 2000 Dupont award. Alison was the reporter and producer of the May, 2007 documentary, "The Education of Deval Patrick, The First 100 Days,'' which exclusively chronicled the first tumultuous months of the administration of the Massachusetts governor. She holds a undergraduate degree from Colgate University, and a Masters Degree from NYU's School of Journalism. King is a native of Orange, Connecticut. She and her husband live in Boston with their two children.
MARNIE MACLEAN
Marnie MacLean is a reporter in NECN's Maine bureau. She started her career in Bangor at WABI-TV and then spent four years working as a reporter and anchor at WGME-TV in Portland, Maine. During those years she fell in love with the state and won several awards from the Maine Associated Press and the Maine Association of Broadcasters for her reporting work. After her time in Portland, Marnie spent a year working for KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she learned how to chase tornadoes! Marnie then went on to work as a freelance reporter at WCVB-TV in Boston for several years before returning to Maine to raise her family. Marnie grew up in Leominster, Massachusetts. She now lives outside of Portland with her husband and two young girls.
BARBARA MACLEOD
Barbara MacLeod is one of the “NECN pioneers” having joined the station when it began in 1992. She has nearly twenty years of reporting experience in New England and has been honored with numerous awards for journalistic excellence, including the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Awards for Best Documentary. MacLeod has also won three Emmys, two regional Murrow Awards for writing and documentary work, and four Gabriel Awards. She has also been honored by the American Women in Radio and Television with six Gracie Awards. Prior to joining NECN, MacLeod was a reporter and back-up anchor for the News at Ten, WB-56. In 1999, she served as host of NH RoundTable on New Hampshire Public Television. She has also worked as a reporter and anchor at Cape 11 News on Cape Cod and WMTW in Portland, ME. MacLeod grew up in New Hampshire and graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont. She lives in Maine with her family.
JOSH MCELVEEN
As a New Hampshire native, Josh McElveen's arrival at NECN is a homecoming of sorts. "One of the most difficult things a journalist can do is strike a balance between career and family,"Josh says, "and I'm fortunate enough to have found a home at NECN." Before accepting the position of NECN general assignment reporter and weekend anchor, Josh spent six years with WWL -TV in New Orleans. There he covered perhaps the largest natural disaster in U.S. history. Hurricane Katrina. "The storm itself was the easy part, it's the aftermath that sticks with you" Josh says, "I will never forget the weeks following Katrina. Not so much the suffering, But rather the countless acts of selflessness performed by strangers, and the dedication to duty I witnessed in my collegues." Prior to New Orleans, Josh had stints in Santa Barbara and Fresno. He served in the Marine Corps during the first Gulf War and considers it one his proudest accomplishments. His biggest loves? "That's easy. My family, New England, and of course the Red Sox" Josh and his wife and daughter live in the suburbs west of Boston.
Karen Swensen, co-anchor of Good Morning Live and Josh McElveen, NECN general assignment reporter, are part of a team from WWL-TV in New Orleans that yesterday won the George Foster Peabody Award for their coverage of the Katrina hurricane disaster.
From pre-storm advisories to investigative reports on why the levees failed, WWL's coverage of Hurricane Katrina began two days before the storm battered and swamped New Orleans and continued, unbroken, thanks to careful pre-planning and dedicated personnel, 99 percent of whom stayed on the job. WWL-TV.
Karen co-anchored virtually every news broadcast for three weeks, while Josh was all over New Orleans reporting the latest developments of the storm and its aftermath.
The George Foster Peabody Awards were first awarded in 1941 for radio programs broadcast in 1940. The awards recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious service by radio and television networks, stations, producing organizations, cable television organizations and individuals. They perpetuate the memory of the banker-philanthropist whose name they bear. The awards program is administered by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. Selection is made by the Peabody Board following review by special screening committees of faculty, students and staff.

SCOTT MONTMINY
Scott Montminy is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. Scott began his career as a radio news reporter at WCAP-AM in Lowell, Massachusetts. He subsequently worked as news director at WINQ-FM in central Massachusetts before taking a position as chief anchor and news director at Talk America Radio Networks. Scott also hosted and co-hosted various syndicated radio programs at Talk America. After a foray into the public relations field, Scott worked as a television health reporter at WNDS-TV in Derry, New Hampshire. As a health reporter, Scott earned an American Heart Association Media Award and a citation from New Hampshire's former Governor Craig Benson. Scott has spent much of his time since 1998 as a traffic reporter for Metro Networks in Boston, where he currently serves as assistant director of operations. His work at Metro has included reporting on traffic conditions for numerous Boston radio and television stations. He occasionally reports for WBZ radio's "Traffic on the Threes" (where his traffic reporting career began) from both the ground and the air. He currently can be seen each weekday morning, reporting on traffic conditions for all of New England on NECN.
Scott is also co-owner of Across the Board Productions, a full-service production company specializing in syndicated talk radio. A lifelong New Englander, Scott grew up in Revere, Massachusetts and currently resides in New Hampshire. When he's not covering traffic, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Flora, their three young daughters, Rebecca, Meghan and Hannah and their son, Evan.
JOHN MORONEY
John Moroney joined NECN in April 2004 as a general assignment reporter from WFSB TV-3, the CBS affiliate in Connecticut, where he was a general assignment reporter and the Chief Political Reporter for the station. Moroney is a seasoned and award-winning journalist, having more than two decades of broadcast and print experience. He has reported on a wide range of issues, including: national presidential campaigns to state and local politics; the aftermath of September 11th; the RI Station nightclub fire; the Catholic Church crisis; same sex marriage in Massachusetts; the Big Dig; and the Entwhistle murders.
Moroney received his BA from Northeastern University and Master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where he was awarded the John M. Patterson Prize for Nightly News. Prior to joining NECN, Moroney worked as a reporter for WFSB TV-3 and NBC affiliate WWLP-TV 22 in Springfield; as well as an anchor and managing editor for the MediaOne cable news network. He also worked for several years as a print reporter and editor for daily and weekly newspapers in Massachusetts. During his career, Moroney has received several awards from the New England Press Association.
Moroney, a native of Acton, Massachusetts, lives in the Greater Boston area with his wife and two children.
BRAD PUFFER
Brad Puffer is a general assignment reporter for NECN. He is an Acton, MA native who attended Tufts University, where he majored in Political Science and English. He got his start in broadcast journalism as an intern for the Voice of America in London. After college, Brad worked for two years at WGBH with the PBS science series NOVA. He then received his master's degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1998. Puffer began his on-air career in Frederick, Maryland. He worked for WHAG-TV as a reporter, anchor and photographer. He quickly left for southern sun, spending three years in Jacksonville, Florida with WJXT-TV. There, he broke several important stories about the 2000 Presidential election, the justice system, and the school board. Since joining NECN in December 2002, Brad has covered the West Warwick nightclub fire, traveled with the Kerry campaign, flown with the Blue Angels and followed closely the same-sex marriage debate. He loves the opportunity to tell in-depth stories and meet interesting people everyday. He lives in Framingham, MA, with his wife and two daughters.
AMY SINCLAIR, Maine Bureau Reporter
Amy Sinclair considers herself lucky to live and work in the great state of Maine. Her reporting has taken her to remote islands off the coast and deepinto the Maine woods in search of bear dens and lynx kittens. She says there are as many stories to tell in Maine as there are miles ofcoastline, so there's never a dull moment. Before joining NECN, Amy worked for WGME-TV in Portland, ME and WVII in Bangor, ME. She's been honored with an Emmy and numerous awards from the Associated Press and the Maine Association of Broadcasters. Amy holds an undergraduate degree from Connecticut College and a Master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Amy is also a certified Master Gardener and spent the summer of 2007 launching an organic children's garden in her community. She lives outside of Portland, Maine with her husband, Tux, and their son.
GREG WAYLAND
Greg Wayland is a general assignment reporter with NECN. He is a native New Englander and a twenty-year veteran of television news. Wayland has worked as an anchor and reporter at Boston’s WNEV-TV (now WHDH) and WBZ-TV, and at WPRI-TV in Providence. Wayland began his career as an editorial assistant at the Boston Globe. He has also worked for WINK-TV in Fort Myers, FL and WTSP-TV in Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL.
SCOT YOUNT
Scot Yount is a general assignment reporter at NECN. In addition to his regular reporting duties, Yount also anchors the Friday morning edition of New England Daily and produces and reports NECN's DataStream segment every Friday night. Yount's diverse background, including 6 years in the United States Air Force, makes him uniquely suited for the wide range of stories he is called on to cover. Yount has reported on the crash of the space shuttle Columbia, the crash of John F Kennedy Jr's plane, the capture of Saddam Hussein and the war in Iraq. Yount began his career in broadcast journalism in Fairbanks, Alaska. He has also reported for stations in Florida and New York. Yount is an avid rock climber and musician, and enjoys spending his free time riding his motorcycle. He resides in the Greater Boston area.
