(NECN: Fort Hood, Texas) - Lieutenant General Robert Cone held a news conference this afternoon to update the public on the Fort Hood shootings.

Cone says Sgt. Kim Munley is "doing well" and "sends her regards." Munley stopped alleged shooter Nidal Hasan in his tracks, but suffered gunshot wounds to her legs and wrist.

Hasan is accused of killing 13 people last week during a shooting rampage at the Fort Hood, Texas, Army base. He is listed in stable condition at an Army hospital in San Antonio.

(NECN: Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - Ida started out as the third hurricane of this year's Atlantic season, but it has weakened to a tropical storm.

(NECN: Fort Hood, TX) - John McHugh, the Secretary of the U.S. Army, held a news conference this afternoon to update the public on the deadly Fort Hood shooting rampage.

Army psychiatrist Nidal Malik Hasan is the suspect in the shooting that killed 13 people and wounded 30 others on Thursday.

"Our thoughts and prayers are particularly with those families of the fallen," said McHugh.

General George Casey, Army Chief of Staff, says "we are an Army that draws strength from diversity."

Casey has asked Army leaders across the country to review force protection measures.

(NECN: Orlando, Fla.) - Officials in Orlando, Florida, say an office building gunman has been apprehended after killing one person and injuring five others.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer says the OPD and the residents have been extremely cooperative.

Orlando Police Chief Val Demings says 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez surrendered to police at his mother's home after officers saw him through a window and asked him to come out.

The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.

(NECN: Orlando, Fla.) - Officials are searching for a gunman who opened fire in a downtown Orlando, Florida, office building today.

There are six people believed to have been hurt. Their conditions are not known at this time.

The gunman is believed to be 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez. He might be in a 2002 silver Nissan SUV with license plate D119UX.

He is considered armed and dangerous. He is believed to be a former employee of a company in the building.

SWAT teams are on the scene. This remains a very active investigation.

Officials say the shooter is still on the loose. The shooter has not been identified at this time.

(NECN: N. Attleboro, Mass.) - A Marine helicopter pilot from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, is being laid to rest today.

A funeral service for Captain Kyle Van De Giesen was held this morning at St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro.

A procession through town and burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will follow.

A candlelight vigil for Van De Giesen was held last night at the football field where the former quarterback led the local high school football team to many victories.
