Broadside: "Hollywood East" fantasy

(NECN: Jim Braude) - Like any good movie, this one opens with credits. Kudos to the Boston Globe for their investigative report: "A grand studio dream runs headlong into reality."

It tells the story of the team of developers who sold the town of Plymouth, Massachusetts the dream of building a movie studio complex on a former golf course, and generating hundreds if not thousands of jobs in the movie-making biz.

(NECN) - Video game lovers have answered the call to arms. The anti-terrorism-themed video game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" has broken all kinds of sales records, since its release last Tuesday. But, while it is a hit with gamers, some say it crosses a line.

Fans put together flash mob in LA to promote new Janet Jackson album

(NECN/ABC) - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are just one of the many celebrities adding star power at a museum gala this weekend in Los Angeles.

A long list of actors and actresses strutted past paparazzi to watch the new princess of pop - Lady Gaga - performing alongside Bolshoi ballet dancers.

Just a few miles away, at the Kodak Theatre, Lauren Bacall mingled with Hollywood heavyweights to receive her very own lifetime achievement award.

'2012' has explosive weekend, tops box office

(NECN) - A doomsday tale had people flocking to the box office this weekend.

It is a film filled with special effects.

Wolfman "The Man Who Lives With Wolves"

(NECN) - Even if you haven't caught his show on Animal Planet, I bet you know Shaun Ellis.

He's the Wolfman*-the guy who lives with a pack of captive wolves in England and the guy who spent a whole TV series introducing his nervous-but-game girlfriend to the rough-and-tumble of pack life.

He's obviously unorthodox and some biologists question certain things, like his desire to some day try living with a wolf pack in the wild.

But animal lovers shouldn't be surprised by the sensitive side of this man who found salvation with creatures others find scary.

Yoga with seals at New England Aquarium

(NECN) - Some of you may remember a segment we ran a while back on dog yoga -- or *doga.

Well if you thought that was a stretch, just wait until you see what the New England Aquarium has come up with, yoga with the seals.

It may sound kooky, but Vicki Croke promises you'll love the concept.

You can check out the fur seals anytime at the New England Aquarium's new Marine Mammal Center.

They'll also be showing off their flexibility each week in the aquarium's new Fitness Fridays series.
