Review: Bricco(Review) Bricco - West Hartford,CT
Ask a local, and they'll tell you Bricco is one of Greater Hartford's tastiest places. But can it pass muster with our TV Diner judges? Oh yes, and then some. Here's the review:
Bricco, a well known West Hartford establishment continues to live up to the high expectations it holds. Busy even on a Sunday late afternoon, the place is popular enough to draw Gayle King to their doors to film a segment for the Oprah show.
While Gayle was filming her favorite lobster sandwich, hungry patrons made their way past her in a quiet, dignified manner. It seemed that there was no surprise that the celebrity would be drawn to this upscale Italian haunt.
The menu features everything from seafood and pasta to innovative salad choices and meat entrees.
The Stadium Pie was first. This impossibly thin flatbread was liberally covered with cheese and tender slices of pepperoni.
The Calamari was up next. This was melt in your mouth tender with a perfect pairing of aioli and tangy tomato sauce for dipping.
The New York Strip was fantastic. A choice cut of meat cooked to perfection and paired with the most light and fluffy mashed potatoes around. The Absolute Chicken pasta was another hit. Al dente pasta, fresh veggies and plenty of tender chicken made this dish plenty to share.
The Lemon Tart was another winner. Light and sweet and the perfect amount of tart, we loved every last bite of this one. The Dessert sampler comes with four of Briccos best sellers. Our fave was the pair of cannolis, served with one chocolate and one vanilla.. creamy and crisp.
Service was excellent at Bricco. Our server was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.
Value was also excellent with large portions of high quality, distinctively prepared food.
Overall Bricco earned the platinum plate. They can be reached at 860-233-0220 or on the web at:
