Review: Enn(TV Diner) - A new restaurant in a strip mall is where you'll find Enn, a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar, in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The minute you enter Enn, you'll be warmly greeted and shown to a table in the spacious, brightly colored restaurant. The black tablecloths and cloth napkins are impressive; let's see if the food will get your attention.
The incredibly tender Tuna Tempura - offered the highest quality tuna! It was slightly battered, deep fried to medium rare, and served with Ponzu sauce. All entrees come with a small bowl of piping Hot Miso soup and a small salad, livened up with an orange-ginger dressing.
For adventurous sushi lovers, you can't go wrong with the Sushi Dinner. The chef will make 10 different sushi items, plus a California maki roll, all artfully arranged on a long white platter, with plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger. You will dine on everything from shrimp to flying fish roe.
If you prefer something more recognizable, get the Pork Teriyaki, which is really enough for two people to share. Tender slices of broiled pork are smothered with the house-made teriyaki sauce. On the side, you'll have steamed white rice, savory green beans, and sweet baby carrots.
If you have room for dessert, and that's a big IF, take a stab at the Deep-Fried Vanilla Ice Cream. If you're wondering what's in that crust, it's granola! Not very Japanese, but awfully good.
Food is an art at Enn, and art doesn't come cheap. Appetizers and salads run from $5 to $12; entrees are $15 to $28; and desserts are around $5.
For serving authentic Japanese cuisine in creative new ways, Enn and its friendly staff get the Gold Plate.
Open for lunch and dinner.
